Are you freaking out? Because I'm freaking out! The Jonas Brothers are back to the music scene as a group and while we were all getting ready in high heels and red dresses their video debuted. And since most of us were focused on the Jonas brothers, because we all have a favorite, here's some things we may have missed.
The video features the self proclaimed J Sisters, Sophie Turner, fiancee of Joe Jonas, Danielle Jonas, wife of Kevin Jonas and Priyanka Chopra, wife of Nick Jonas. These stunning ladies stole the show as they starred alongside their partners in the new video. All three women are known for more than their significant others - Priyanka Chopra was Miss World in 2000 and starred in multiple Indian movies as well as ABC’s hit TV series Quantico. Sophie Turner made her acting debut as Sansa Stark in Game Of Thrones since 2011. Danielle Jonas runs a blog and has recently started a jewelry company which the first collection to “focus on each individuals birthstone because I’ve always found this is a great way to show the people in my life how much i love them during any occasion.” according to the companies website. Danielle also was nominated for A Shorty Award for Best Celebrity Fashion in 2013.
There is a subtle reference to “sucker.” While all six Jonases, or soon to be for Sophie Turner, took “glam baths” as they were called on Priyanka Chopra’s social media most of them enjoyed a lollipop, which are also called suckers in the American South or Midwest. This reference is subtle but furthers the title of the song.
The video was filmed in England. The majestic gardens of the video can be found at the Hatfield House, a spacious estate about twenty miles from London. The House offers 42 acres of garden some of which is open to the public. The Hatfield House is a popular location to film for productions. Their website lists everything that has been filmed there including Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2004), Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows part 2 (2011) and Wonder Woman (20117)
The brothers have not announced anything since the video release. On February 28, the official instagram of the Jonas Brothers released the album cover for “Sucker.” The same day they posted a recreation video of their famous video from 2008 in which Nick and Kevin lift a table turn it 360 degrees and then Joe enters and they all pose dramatically and say “oh have the tables have turned.”
The new video ends with a confetti cannon covering all 3 in confetti and a banner that reads “Hello Again!” On March 5 the brothers were on the Late Late Show with James Corden and were featured in Carpool Karaoke. The brothers played “The Side Effects May Include ” Start A Band With Your Brothers Version in which Nick joked about their reunion saying “Reuniting because your brothers and you have to spend so much time together anyway, so you might as well make a ton of money off of it.” Fans are unsure of this reunion is permanent though since during the “Getting the Band Back Together” Version Joe said “splitting up again so you can have one of these fun reunions next year.”
The whole reunion has been a year in the works
Around a year ago the brothers were considering creating a documentary about their story - from brothers to a boyband. They wanted to detail their experience and tell their true story, slowly this evolved into getting back together and releasing Sucker, as someone who is a huge Jonas brothers fan, I’m sure glad they did.
